Andrew Thorn was a young 26-year-old who after working for many years in his father's business decided to start his own. For over a decade he financed businesses and their equipment originating over $50 million in loans annually.
Andrew has always had an internal drive to continually learn and push himself and his business endeavors to be better. Over time he felt like he and his business had plateaued and so he started hiring consultants and advisors with various specialties to help him learn how to go to the next level of success. He also received an MBA from Pepperdine in 2002. However, he still felt like there were pieces missing, it seemed like too often the consultants or education told him things he already knew or simply told him he was already doing very well.
Andrew was still unsatisfied and wanted to know how to grow.
Shortly after receiving his MBA, in 2003 his father passed away. This event caused him to think more deeply about who he was and about his purpose in life and work. His epiphany during this time was that most of the leadership consultants he'd hired and the formal education he'd received usually focused exclusively on executives of organizations and only on external factors…performance and change management. What if there was a way to focus on internal factors and be able to work with entire companies or departments and create lasting improvements that stick?
Feeling a knew drive and purpose in his life, Andrew sold his business and began his research starting with dual Masters degrees in Psychology and Personal and Executive Coaching and then a PhD in Consulting Psychology. During his PhD program he carried out a 5-year longitudinal research study that looked at creating lasting behavioral changes throughout entire organizations using an innovative one-on-one and peer-to-peer coaching methodology and Andrew had developed.
The statistical results from this study and the subsequent success in implementing this program with hundreds of executives and organizations around the globe have shown that the Telios Leadership methodology works and creates lasting leadership and productivity improvements in individuals and organizations.
In 2011 he also developed a program based on these same principles but geared towards helping individuals achieve behavioral growth and improved performance in their lives.
Dr. Thorn has recently moved to Utah because of its vibrant business environment and is excited to establish Telios Corporation's global headquarters there. Utah, over the past 10 years, has become a thriving environment for start-ups, high-tech companies, and the number 1 state for entrepreneurs to start their ventures. Utah's environment is an ideal place for Telios to grow and provide it's philosophies to organizations from around the world.
